Racerchick...I'd like to hear more about your coming races...Is your current job permanent? Will you get a vacation this summer?

RE: Note to Racerchick...
Well, unfortunately we have had to miss the last few races due to financial constraints, so now we are out of the points race.

I had the first week of July off, so my vacation's already done.

Yes, I now have a salaried position here, so the jobsite location will change but not my employer. When I'm not on a job I'll be in San Diego in the main office. That means I will be traveling from now on, not the ideal for me but much better than no job right now. It's really not possible to do my job without travel. The up side is that the job is fun and interesting with new locations and people all the time, and it's a great company to work for.

RE: Note to Racerchick...
I have no ides what my next project will be. This contract doesn't end until November of next year, so who knows what projects we will have by then?

I spent some of my vacation at the lake, and the rest at home catching up.

How far will you be asked to travel? Will you stay in the west? Thanks...

No guarantee, we bid work all over the world, but the majority of it is in the west.

Does the company guarantee you a flight home every weekend? It must be hard to be away from home every week. But good that you have such a stable and secure job...What do you do first when you get back home?

RE: Note to Racerchick...
Yes, my travel is part of my compensation package. Unless we're working on the weekend I'm at home. Friday night is date night for us so unless we have a trip to the lake or something planned, I change out of my travel clothes and we go out, for dinner at least.

Do you get to leave work early on Fridays to fly home? Where do you like to go on dates when you get back? Thanks...

RE: Note to Racerchick...
Yes I do, although the people who stay the whole day still get home before I do! We will usually go to dinner, then maybe meet some friends for cocktails afterward at one of our local watering holes. The Overland has a pretty good DJ on Fridays and a few other places have karaoke. Sometimes we just go home. Depends on our mood.

Sounds like fun. Do you like to dance a lot? Have you ever sang karaoke? What type of music do you like best? Thanks...

RE: Note to Racerchick...
I can't dance now, because I am handicapped. I have sung karaoke. The song was "Easy"-- easy as Sunday morning.
